The 3Com® OfficeConnect® Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Cable/DSL Router is a high-speed,
 affordable, and easy-to-use small office solution boasting eXtended range (XR) tech
nology that enables up to 253 (64 wireless) users to securely share a single cable or
 DSL Internet connection. Wireless LAN users can connect at speeds of up to 54 Mbps
 and at distances up to 400 feet—almost 9 times faster than 11b wireless speeds. And
 the wireless router is backward-compatible with 11b wireless clients, preserving exis
ting wireless network investments. Featuring  eXtended range(XR) technology this ro
uter facilitates longer range connections, providing single access point coverage in
home networks, eliminating  dead spots in corporate wireless LANs, and provide out
door coverage of up to two times the distance of last generation competing WLAN
solutions.

 Furthermore, because it is Wi-Fi CERTIFIED, the router works with other Wi-Ficompa
tible equipment.

The 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless 54 Mbps 11g Cable/DSL Router  includes multiple
firewall and IP routing and advanced security features—IP routing (RIP 1 and 2), sta
tic routing, URL or keyword filtering, and allow/deny access control lists; plus supp
ort for the SurfControl Web Filter —in an economical package. 128-bit WPA/WPA2
(Wi-Fi Protected Access/ Wi-Fi Protected Access 2) with TKIP/AES and 40/64 and
128-bit WEP (Wireless Encryption Protocol) encryption for legacy clients to protect
the privacy of 11g and 11b wireless transmissions. An intuitive web interface and
simple setup wizards simplify setup and use.

This high speed, security conscious, wireless 54 Mbps 11g router is designed for sm
all but growing offices, branch offices, and home offices and comes with a 14 day fr
ee trial of the SurfControl Web Filter, a premier subscription based service that  allo
ws you to actively monitor network use and abuse anywhere in your network,  prote
cts against downtime due to attacks, bolsters network defenses by providing autom
atic, real-time security updates from SurfControl’s global threat experts, blocks acc
ess to pornographic, prejudicial and other inappropriate content, assists with regula
tory compliance with HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, and other industry or government sec
urity requirements.
