The DGS-3627 is part of D-Link¡¯s xStack family of core Layer3 Gigabit switches that combine performance with robust security, Quality of Service (QoS), versatile management functions, redundant power supply option and scalable flexibility. All these features are typically found in more expensive chassis-based solutions.
Flexible stacking options Several DGS-3627 switches may be physically stacked, using low-cost CX4 10 Gigabit copper modules. In this configuration, one or two 10-Gigabit uplinks may be created, depending on whether the linear or fault-tolerant ring stacking1 is implemented. Up to 12 switches can be stacked in this way. Using the low-cost coaxial cable as the medium to stack switches together provides not only high-bandwidth stacking but also the flexibility to add 10-Gigabit uplinks strictly as needed. The three open slots can also be used for optional 10-Gigabit XFP fiber uplinks to servers or a backbone connection.

Easy expansion beyond Physical Stacking With D-Link Single IP Management (SIM) support, you can easily add up to 32 switch units -regardless of the model- in a virtual stack in addition to your physical stack. Multiple switches can be configured, monitored and maintained from any workstation running a Web browser via one single IP address. The stack is managed as a single object, as all stacked units are identified by a single IP address.
A simple yet powerful web-based interface allows you to perform most management and configuration tasks.
Comprehensive security A complete set of security features is provided, which includes L2/L3/L4 multi-layer Access Control Lists (ACLs) and 802.1X user authentication via TACACS+ and RADIUS servers. The switch also offers suppression capabilities and Layer3 IPv4/v6 static routing to increase network performance and security.
In addition, when implemented in conjunction with a D-Link NetDefend firewall, this switch as a stand-alone or in a stack, is able to automatically quarantine any host displaying abnormal behaviour.
Finally, D-Link¡¯s ZoneDefense, provides proactive network security by preventing viruses from spreading through the network and thwarting harmful network attacks.*

Enhanced network performance & availability The DGS-3627 switch provides VLAN support including GARP/GVRP and 802.1Q to enhance network security and performance.
The switch implements a robust set of multi-layer (L2, L3, L4) QoS/CoS features to ensure that critical network services like VoIP, ERP, Intranet and video conference are prioritised.
Bandwidth control allows administrators to set traffic limits on each port, ensuring a committed level of service for end users. For advanced applications, per-flow bandwidth control allows easy fine-tuning of service types based on specific IP addresses or protocols.
In addition, a unique feature, D-Link Safeguard Engine¢â, allows administrators to configure thresholds that limit the impact of packet flooding typically caused by virus/worm outbreaks. This increases the switch's reliability, serviceability and availability.
